My new single ‘Polar Bear’ is released on November 28th on End of the Trail Records. Listen here, where it’s available on all streaming platforms.

Here’s a taste of the song-

Performing ‘Wild Geese’ by Mary Oliver at Barnabys in Hastings

My previous single ‘The High Far Fields of Home’ was a really personal song about finding meaning in the middle of a dark, anxious night of insomnia.

Here’s some nice things people said about it:

“Soaring melancholy and powerful wistfulness…a fab song.”

David Quantick

“A heartwarming new song  that leads one from restlessness to optimism by way of a gently eartickling melody line – very much in tune with life’s current uncertainties”

Paul Lewis (composer of music for classic TV-  Dr Who, The Avengers, Tales of the Unexpected etc)

…engaging lyrics, passionate performances and a thoughtful arrangement.

The song is from my album ‘Wonders and Sighs’ which will be released on the End of the Trail Records next year. For now, a provisional version of the album can be heard on Soundcloud:

Wonders and Sighs

A collection of songs by Ed Boxall

“Blending highly crafted story-songs with the creative playfulness of mid-’60s psychedelia, Wonders and Sighs is full of warmth, wonder, and optimism.

Songs like Castle of Light explore some of the anxieties and cynicism of the modern world, but hope shines through in tracks like No Enemy Outside. The result is a dreamy, hopeful journey through light and shadow.

Recorded in Ed’s shed and filled with the warm tones of old Casio keyboards, the sparkle of 12 string guitars, harmonium drones and poetic words, Wonders and Sighs is a homemade musical world to get lost in.”

No Enemy Outside, from Wonders and Sighs:

Wonders and Sighs is my first music with a record label, but I’ve self-released lots of lovely stuff in recent years, that can be found on Soundcloud and all streaming services.

Here’s some highlights…

I absolutely love this film for my instrumental ‘Dance Beneath a Diamond Sky’, by Uchujin films:

A bright, joyful indie pop song sharing the indulgent feeling of falling in love, ‘She Smiles and You’re Born Again’ is a wonderfully positive, unapologetically warming sunshine-laced tune. It will fill your ears with happiness and your heart with a benevolent glow

I love performing live as well as recording, here’s some snippets of gigs:

Performing my song ‘Your Big Dream’ at the Into The Trees Fest.
Getting everyone joining in with my version of ‘We Got The Power’ by The Kids from Fame!

A quiet one… ‘Coming Round the Corner’, a song about coming home. Musically trying by best to write a Clientele song. The Clientele are my favourite band of recent years.
